Pay your council tax or business rates by Direct Debit

Use this form to set up a Direct Debit for paying your council tax or business rates. 

Direct Debits can be set up online or over the telephone in addition to the postal method. The Direct Debit safeguards and guarantees apply. No changes in the amount, date or frequency to be debited can be made without notifying you at least 10 working days in advance of your account being debited. In the event of any error being made in the payment of your Direct Debit, you are entitled to an immediate refund from your bank or building society. You have the right to cancel a Direct Debit Instruction at any time simply by writing to your bank or building society, with a copy to us.

You will be asked to provide:

  • Your contact details
  • Your account reference (you can find this on your bill)
  • The name of the account holder, bank sort code and account number.
