Apply for a scrap metal licence
Before you start
A site licence lets you buy and sell scrap metal from a fixed location in the district.
A collectors licence lets you travel in the district to collect scrap metal. You cannot take metal back to a site in the district that you run to sell it.
You can only apply for one licence type from us, but you can have a site and a collectors licence from different councils. For example, you could apply to run a site in this district and also apply for a collectors licence in another district.
Each licence is valid for three years.
You will need:
- Your contact details
- If you're applying as a partnership; the contact details for every partner, director or shadow director and secretary
